Round 2

Oregon. 44. 820. Pick Analysis. Safety . Jevon Holland . player. Scouting Report

With the 44th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Jevon Holland. The Cowboys adding two pieces to their defensive back room. Holland brings versatility to a unit that needs talent. Holland would come into Dallas and would compete for the starting free safety spot as well as give the cowboys another defensive back that can help in nickel packages.

Holland can cover tight-ends and has the ability to cover receivers in one-on-one situations. Oregon used Holland all over the field. When I put on the film I noticed him covering receivers in man coverage situations 30 yards downfield. He is an extremely smart football player that has been on the Cowboys’ radar for two years now.

With the additions of Holland and Surtain, the Cowboys have totally remade their secondary with young talent. Now they need to turn their attention to the front seven and be aggressive in the selections they make moving forward. With these two selections, the Cowboys have turned a weakness into a strength in a tough division full of great wide receivers.

As we move toward the third-round the Cowboys get an absolute steal who many scouts have a late first-round grade on.
