Miami (FL). Gregory Rousseau. Pick Analysis. Edge. 21. player. 46. Scouting Report

With Denico Autry signing with the Titans this offseason and Justin Houston remaining unsigned, the Colts could look to the draft for edge rushers.

This is an interesting class for edge rushers, none of them are likely top ten picks, however, there are plenty of first-round talents.  I expect to see at least three or four edges come off the board in the back half of the first round, so the Colts have plenty of viable options for edge rushers here if they chose to go in that direction.

Gregory Rousseau has a lot of potential with a massive frame at 6-foot-7, 265 pounds, good length, and good athleticism.  He projects well as a pass rusher as he’s capable of winning with quickness, strength, or good hand usage.

He opted out of the 2020 season, but he showed plenty in 2019 to warrant a first-round investment as he registered 15.5 sacks.

Rousseau is a typical 4-3 defensive end who usually lines up outside the tackle, but he does have the flexibility to line up all over the defensive line.  He took snaps lining up at defensive tackle at Miami and I could also see him doing some of that in the NFL as well because he does have the strength to win from the inside.

Pick Analysis. CB. Greg Newsome. 22. Scouting Report. Northwestern. player. 35

The Titans lost Adoree’ Jackson and replaced him with Janoris Jenkins this offseason, but beyond Jenkins, they don’t have any proven corners.  Greg Newsome doesn’t get as much hype as guys like Surtain, Horn, and Farley, but he’s certainly a first-round caliber player.

Much like the other top corners in this class, has ideal physical traits to play corner with his size at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, speed (4.39 40 at pro day), and leaping ability (40 inch vertical at pro day).

Newsome was a ball hawk in 2020, due to the covid shortened season in the big ten he only played six games, but he still showcased his ball skills by breaking up seven passes.
