Scouting Report. QB. 1. Pick Analysis. Clemson. Trevor Lawrence. player. 52

Not much explanation is needed for this one. Trevor Lawrence has been the favorite to be the number one pick in this draft since even his high school days and here we are today he’s an absolute lock to go first.

Lawrence will be the fourth straight quarterback to go number one overall and he’s the best quarterback prospect we’ve seen in a long time.

His arm talent is special, he’s capable of making throws that very few quarterbacks in the NFL can make, and not only does he have a very strong arm, but good placement as well.  In addition, he has elite size (6-foot-6, 220 pounds) and is very capable of running and scrambling when necessary.

One of the most important things to look for in a quarterback is accuracy throwing downfield, which Lawrence certainly has. According to PFF, last year on passes 20+ yards downfield he completed 22 of his 51 attempts for 831 yards, 10 touchdowns, and a grade of 97.7.

Despite not winning a Heisman, he still had one of the best college careers in recent memory. He won the national title as a freshman, had a record of 34-2 as a starter, and made the playoff in all three of his seasons.

Lawrence is a rare talent and will be the pick here and Jaguars fans should be ecstatic for the future.
