Round Two

Scouting Report. WR. Ole Miss. Elijah Moore. 47. College Stats. 46. player

Following the signings of Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, and two stud tight ends, the New England Patriots may very well be done on the offensive side of the ball. With the chance to snag a first-round wide receiver in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft though, the Patriots can’t afford to pass on such a deep receiver class.

Led by NC State slot receiver Jakobi Meyers last season, the New England Patriots’ wide receivers not only failed to convert in the endzone but also failed to stretch the field vertically in an effort to help their rushing attack. With a burner such as Moore though, the Patriots offense receives an instant modern-age facelift.

With a 4.32 40-yard dash at his pro day, Moore made sure to cement his status as a new-age burner receiver who can not only beat defenders vertically but horizontally as well. With phone-booth shiftiness, Moore is an every-down threat with the ball in his hands. What is most impressive though is the bellcow reception totals from his 2020 season.

With 10+ receptions in seven of his eight games in the 2020 season, Moore was a constant presence in the Rebel’s offense with six of those games seeing him go for at least 10 yards per catch (227 yards on 10 catches vs Florida).

Round Three

Scouting Report. DT. Florida State. marvin wilson. 97. player. 47. College Stats

Following sweeping changes across the face of the New England Patriots defensive line with the additions of Godchaux and Anderson, the Patriots could look to reinforce their band-aid free agency solutions with youth. After being touted early in the 2021 NFL Draft process as a potential top defensive tackle, a lack of team success in 2020 has enabled this prospect to fall to the team which could put him back into the spotlight.

A conventional defensive tackle standing at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, Florida State’s Marvin Wilson is a stout run defender who shows out well when applying his power downhill. Operating as a 3-4 defensive end in the Seminole’s defensive front, Wilson is also a player who can be placed rotationally across the defensive line as a key piece of depth.
