While the fullback position might be a dying breed in the NFL, teams that still use this position can find good value late in the draft. The top fullback in the 2021 NFL Draft class is Ben Mason who could also play some tight end in the NFL. The only other fullback who received a draftable grade at this is Mason Stokke of Wisconsin who was used in a variety of ways in Wisconsin’s offense last year.

Most underrated fullback in 2021 NFL Draft: Ben Mason

A player who could hear his name called on draft day is Ben Mason of Michigan. This is due to the versatility he has shown at both Michigan and at the Senior Bowl. As a runner, he rushed 33 times for seven touchdowns in 2018. While he was never used much in Michigan’s passing game he did display soft hands during Senior Bowl week.

Most overrated fullback in 2021 NFL Draft: Tony Carter

While it is hard to overrate a fullback, a player who might fit this bill is LSU’s Tony Carter. While Carter shows the attitude you want out of a fullback he does not offer much as a receiver or runner. In order for him to make an NFL team, he is going to need to stand out on special teams.

Day three gem in 2021 NFL Draft: Ben Mason

No fullback will go before the third day of the draft so we might as well go with the top fullback at this spot. Despite being a late-round draft pick expect Mason to see significant playing time with whatever team is smart enough to draft him.

Fullback that is the biggest risk in the 2021 NFL Draft: Mason Stokke

Despite being one of the more productive fullbacks in the FBS, Wisconsin’s Mason Stoke is also the riskiest player in this group. He carries some risk due to the injuries he suffered early in his career. These injuries include a torn ACL and conclusion in 2016 and a torn Achilles in 2017.
