2021 NFL Draft: Five trade-up targets for the Buffalo Bills
4. Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC
Like Rashawn Slater, Alijah Vera-Tucker is a top offensive line prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft whose versatility would be very valuable to a team like the Buffalo Bills. With quick feet, heavy hands and great athleticism, Vera-Tucker can play any spot on the offensive line at the next level.
Vera-Tucker has seen time at USC at left tackle, left guard and right guard. He possesses a skillset to excel at any spot a team decides to play him at. With his nimble footwork and sound technique, Vera-Tucker is an ideal plug-and-play prospect that teams will value in the middle of the first round.
Often mocked in the teens and early twenties, it shouldn’t take as big of a haul as the players above for the Bills to land Vera-Tucker. Though he has been a riser as of late, the price tag still isn’t that of linemen like Sewell and Slater.
Again, the Buffalo Bills can really use some improvement across their offensive line. If Vera-Tucker can come in and play guard and even develop into a future left tackle, it may be worth jumping up 10 spots or so in the first round to secure a reliable blocker like him.
The Buffalo Bills have a solid enough roster to not reach for any particular position, giving them the freedom to make a little bit of a move for a player like Alijah Vera-Tucker. If the Bills front office has a very high grade on him and he starts to slip a bit to the twenties, the Bills could certainly take the leap.
