Jacksonville Jaguars address needs, depth in three-round mock draft
By Joel Deering
First-round: 25th overall – S Trevon Moehrig, TCU Horned Frogs
The Jacksonville Jaguars have made some nice additions to their secondary this offseason with the additions of cornerback Shaquill Griffin and safety Rayshawn Jenkins. However, that doesn’t mean their secondary is complete.
Last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars ranked 27th in passing yards allowed. Clearly, they need more help than Griffin and Jenkins.
In today’s NFL, you can never have too many play-making defensive backs. So, with the 25th overall pick, I selected TCU safety Trevon Moehrig.
During his time at TCU, Moehrig displayed his play-making ability by totaling 124 tackles, seven interceptions and 21 pass deflections. Not only can Moehrig tackle, but he can get the football.
If the Jaguars are going to get back to the defense they had when they went to the AFC Championship game, adding a ball-hawking safety like Trevon Moehrig is a great start.
With him being there at pick 25, it was an easy selection for me to make for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
