Jacksonville Jaguars address needs, depth in three-round mock draft
By Joel Deering
In preparation for the 2021 NFL Draft, our NFL Mocks team recently produced a three-round mock draft, which was released on Twitter just a few days ago. All participating staff members were assigned teams they would be the general managers for. When their team was on the clock, they made the pick as if it were their team. I got to play the role of Trent Baalke for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team with the number one overall pick.
As the acting general manager for the Jaguars, I was excited to have five picks in the first three rounds of our 2021 NFL Mock Draft. Below are the five spots where the Jacksonville Jaguars hold picks in rounds one through three:
- First-round – 1st overall
- First-round – 25th overall
- Second-round – 33rd overall
- Second-round – 45th overall
- Third-round – 65th overall
With the Jacksonville Jaguars going 1-15 a season ago, there’s obviously a ton of work the team needs to do to get back to being competitive in the NFL. With each pick I made, I had to consider the needs of the team, who was on the board, the value of each player at that spot, and overall, how I could help the worst team in the NFL from a season ago make a huge stride heading into next season and the future.
In this three-round NFL Mock Draft for the Jacksonville Jaguars, I’ll take you through each pick I made, my thoughts behind each pick, and how each player selected could impact the team as a rookie in the NFL.
