3. Offensive Line

Much like their counterparts on the defensive line, the offensive line of the Buffalo Bills is solid but could improve pretty much across the board. Even if it’s not an immediate impact starter, adding depth and potential could be very beneficial for the Bills.

Last year, Josh Allen had an MVP-like season for the Buffalo Bills. While his offensive line gave him just enough time to make plays, improving the line play could allow Allen to take yet another step in his development. There is no question that the arm talent is there. If Allen is given even more time to read and dissect defenses, he can improve his decision-making and really become on the top quarterbacks in the league.

The bookends in left tackle Dion Dawkins and right tackle Daryl Williams both played pretty well last season. They ranked 14 and 21 at the tackle position, respectively, and are just 26 and 28 years old. If they continue to play at a high level, it could allow Beane and the Bills front office to turn their attention to the inside of the line in the 2021 NFL Draft and beyond.

At guard, the Buffalo Bills were not as successful. The team lost guard Brian Winters in free agency, but were able to retain Jon Feliciano. Nonetheless, none of their guards from a year ago ranked in the top 35 at the position. They have quite a few solid place-fillers on their roster, but no solid starters that can really make a difference. Center, Mitch Morse, also ranked outside the top 20 at his position and is set to start once again in 2021.

Across the board, the Buffalo Bills have some solid pieces here-and-there on their offensive line, but could really improve anywhere. If the value is there, I would not be surprised to see the Bills take an offensive lineman early in the 2021 NFL Draft if they feel that he is the best player available. Even if it is a stab in the later rounds, just as a depth option to start out, adding offensive line help is a must for Buffalo this offseason.
