NFL mock draft 2021: 49ers snag Mac Jones; Broncos trade up for QB
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 11th overall
If the New York Giants genuinely believe in quarterback Daniel Jones, they must continue to work to surround him with proper talent on the offensive side of the ball. The addition of Kenny Golladay in free agency was a good start but there is still plenty of work to do. Giving Jones a starting wide receiver duo of Golladay and DeVonta Smith would put him in the best possible situation to have success as an NFL quarterback.
Smith’s slight frame will drive some teams away but he is an extremely well-rounded wide receiver prospect who undoubtedly has massive upside at the next level. Smith is quick, consistent and explosive, showing the ability to create space with his routes and create well after the catch. He is also a dynamic deep threat who attacks the ball in the air extremely well and shines in contested-catch situations when needed.
Simply put, Smith is a tremendous wide receiver prospect who can come in and make an immediate impact at the next level. If Daniel Jones cannot have success with this group of weapons to work with, the Giants need to be looking for other options at the quarterback position as soon as possible.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 12th overall
It is difficult to predict what the Philadelphia Eagles will do in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. This team has needs all over the roster and should really be taking a best player available approach pretty much no matter what. Jaycee Horn stands out as the best player remaining on the board and would also fill a need for the team on the defensive side of the ball.
Horn is a long and athletic cornerback prospect who shines in man-to-man coverage ability. He is extremely physical at the line of scrimmage and shows the quick feet necessary to keep up throughout the route. Horn is an incredibly talented player who undoubtedly has massive upside at the next level. With this pick, the Eagles find an impact defensive weapon who they can build the unit around.
