NFL mock draft 2021: 49ers snag Mac Jones; Broncos trade up for QB
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 19th overall
The Detroit Lions are clearly headed towards a long rebuild. After trading down earlier in this NFL mock draft, the Lions find themselves in a position to simply sit back and take the best player available. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah stands out as the ideal pick for the team.
Is he is a safety or is he a linebacker? Honestly, who cares? One thing is for sure, this guy is a dynamic defensive playmaker. He is a tremendous athlete who shows great instincts in the middle of the field. His range consistently stands out both as a run defender and in coverage. His ability to defend a variety of players will be incredibly valuable at the next level and would help give the Lions an identity on the defensive side of the ball.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 20th overall
Ideally, the Chicago Bears would be able to solve their quarterback situation in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, that is extremely unlikely to happen from the 20th overall pick. Unless the Bears make an aggressive move up the board, they will likely move forward with their shaky quarterback situation.
Instead of addressing quarterback in this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Bears make a big move at wide receiver. Rashod Bateman is not the biggest or most explosive wide receiver prospect around but he is a talented and well-rounded player who can impact the game in a variety of ways.
Bateman is a sharp route runner who has soft hands and is a strong playmaker after the catch. Wide receiver stands out as a large need for this team and Bateman would be a strong value pick in this range.
