We are in the home stretch. As the 2021 NFL Draft continues to draw near, we are learning more and more about which directions teams will go. In this first-round 2021 NFL mock draft, we will make educated guesses based on positions of need, team tendencies and whispers from around the league. Who will end up where? Let’s find out.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 1st overall

Clemson. 1. 52. Pick Analysis. QB. player. Scouting Report. Trevor Lawrence

No reason to go too in-depth here. Trevor Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect to enter the NFL Draft in recent memory and the Jacksonville Jaguars are clearly preparing to take him with the first overall pick. He has a great chance of becoming an absolute superstar at the most important position in the game and is the kind of player who can completely re-shape this organization.

The Jacksonville Jaguars select Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick in this 2021 NFL mock draft, just like they undoubtedly will less than two weeks from now.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 2nd overall

QB. BYU. Zach Wilson. 2. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 30

Lawrence to Jacksonville appears to be set in stone and while this pick may not be quite as obvious, it seems to be similar. At this point, it would be shocking to see the New York Jets take anyone other than Zach Wilson with the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Wilson is coming off of an incredible season at BYU, where he completed 73.5% of his passes for 3,692 yards, 33 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He is a dynamic, dual-threat playmaker who has a knack for making plays outside of structure and is an ideal fit for the modern NFL.

This pick basically feels like a formality at this point. Will taking Wilson at No. 2 end up being the right decision? Only time will tell.
