Denver Broncos mock draft: Trey Lance leads 7-round haul
In some projections, I’ve seen Baron Browning as a borderline first-rounder. Okay, some of those projections are my own. But at the very least, you don’t often see Browning lasting past the early-mid 40s in mock draft scenarios.
Dane Brugler has him as a solid third-round player, which would greatly benefit the Denver Broncos in a scenario like this.
Browning has the ability to play off the ball in Vic Fangio’s defense but he has the versatility to slide in as a pass rusher as well on third downs.
He’s an explosive athlete and former five-star prospect who took some time to put things together, but he really played well down the stretch of the 2020 season.
With his size and athletic profile as well as what he put on tape this past season both as a pass rusher and playing in coverage, he could be exactly the type of matchup player the Denver Broncos need at one of those full-time off-ball linebacker positions.
I could see either of Ohio State’s linebackers projected to go in this range — Browning and Pete Werner — as options for the Denver Broncos.
