Although the Cleveland Browns have former first-rounder Sheldon Richardson and former Pro Bowl defensive lineman Malik Jackson to rely on for starter snaps (as well as former Bengals starter Andrew Billings), another playmaking pass rusher on the interior defensive line would help this unit consistently wreak havoc.

Christian Barmore took a huge leap forward in his second season with the Crimson Tide and he’s hoping to parlay that into a first-round selection here in a couple of weeks.

There is no doubt that the sample size on Barmore is relatively small, but he is anything but.

This is not a good class of interior defensive linemen but Barmore is a standout player with long limbs, tremendous quickness off the ball, and — follow me here — something of a Yeti-like approach when getting after the quarterback.

You see this 6-foot-5, 310-pound behemoth of a lineman bursting through the line with his nearly 34-inch arms and it’s a scary sight to behold for even the most intimidating offensive linemen.

The way this guy puts pressure on the quarterback from his position is truly a sight to behold. Adding him to the current Browns’ group, which also includes talented 2020 third-round pick Jordan Elliott as well?

Yikes.
