2021 NFL Mock Draft: 6th pick

TE. 6. player. 59. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Florida. Kyle Pitts

Moving down from the third overall pick, the Miami Dolphins obviously have a scenario or two in mind with this selection.

They stand a pretty decent chance of getting the top non-QB on their board, and they unquestionably have a top three they would want to choose from.

To venture a guess, I would say the Dolphins at pick number six overall are targeting one of these three guys:

  • TE Kyle Pitts
  • WR Ja’Marr Chase
  • OT Rashawn Slater

The fact of the matter is, this Dolphins team needs more weapons in the passing game, and Kyle Pitts might be the most dynamic one in this draft class.

Pitts is an absolute freak of nature physically with basically an unlimited catch radius. In the red zone, how can you stop this guy with just one defensive back covering him?

Pitts can play in-line, he can split out in the slot, he can play X, he can really do it all. There’s no spot you can line this guy up in where he won’t be a mismatch. That’s the kind of weapon the Dolphins need, and when you put him with DeVante Parker, Will Fuller, and Mike Gesicki?

You might really have something there.
