NFL Mock Draft 2021: Patriots, Washington trade up in 3-round mock
2021 NFL Mock Draft: 21st pick
The New York Giants are in an interesting spot after free agency. Some of the additions they made and remaining needs lead me to believe they should be an ideal trade-down candidate at their original pick (11 overall).
Giants key 2021 offseason pickups
- WR Kenny Golladay
- WR John Ross III
- TE Kyle Rudolph
- CB Adoree Jackson
The Giants’ offseason has gone largely under the radar, probably because of the fact that no one quite knows what to make of Daniel Jones at this point.
New York has certainly given Jones a plethora of weapons to get the ball to and if that offensive unit can stay healthy (which has been easier said than done lately) they can be absolutely awesome.
Defensively, the Giants need some help off the edge in the pass rush department. Jaelan Phillips could be the guy with the highest ceiling in that department in this entire class.
A former five-star prospect, Phillips would fit in with everyone else the Giants have been acquiring lately with this sentiment — If he can stay healthy, he’ll be a star.
Phillips started his collegiate career at UCLA and wound up transferring to Miami. In his final season at Miami, he was the best player on the team and showed that he’s capable of being a versatile stud at the next level with his combination of size, length, speed, explosiveness, and array of pass rush moves.
