2021 NFL Mock Draft: 20th pick

Christian Darrisaw. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. Virginia Tech. 57. 20. player

The Chicago Bears went for it all this offseason, but they ultimately came up short. Instead of pulling off a blockbuster trade for Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, the Bears had to settle for free agent Andy Dalton, who served as Dak Prescott’s backup in Dallas last season.

Dalton has been a solid starter since he came into the NFL as a second-round pick out of TCU, but that move has not quite moved the needle for Bears fans, at least not in comparison to what adding Russell Wilson would have.

With that said, the Bears now have to focus on putting the best possible team around Dalton, which could start in the 2021 NFL Draft with adding help at the offensive tackle position.

Christian Darrisaw did a lot more run blocking than he did pass blocking at Virginia Tech, but he basically pitched shutouts when he was tasked with pass protecting, and he showed tremendous growth there in his final year with the Hokies.

The Bears have had plenty of offensive line struggles in recent years and Darrisaw is a guy who could step in and start right away for them at either tackle position. He is going to be an immediate mauler in the running game and very few big men get out in space like Darrisaw can.

He plays with a nasty streak and although that seems like somewhat of a cliche statement to make about offensive lineman, he has so many plays on tape where he’s just rag-dolling players.
