2021 NFL Mock Draft: 12th pick
Although it’s not exactly best practice, the Philadelphia Eagles go back-to-back years in this scenario taking a wide receiver.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Eagles picked up Jalen Reagor out of TCU, a speedy outside receiver with a physical style after the catch. Reagor had just 31 receptions in his rookie season, but he’ll be in line for a breakout in 2021.
Jaylen Waddle would be re-joining his former Alabama teammate Jalen Hurts, the Eagles’ second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Waddle is an exceptional talent at the wide receiver position.
In addition to his game-breaking speed, Waddle is a fantastic player at the catch point with strong hands to pluck the ball out of the air.
In such a star-studded receiver group at Alabama, Waddle’s playmaking ability stood out in a big way with his burst, vision in the open field, special teams ability, and well-rounded game in general.
Waddle averaged over 18 yards per touch in his three seasons at Alabama and an insane 19.3 yards per punt return. He is as dynamic as they come and if not for injury, he would probably have no shot at going this low in the first round.
