Washington Football Team 7-round mock draft after strong free agency
By Pablo Rosero
After taking Trask in the third round, it could be beneficial for the Washington Football Team to go after one of his old Florida teammates. Grimes was another high-level recruit who started his career at Ohio State and transferred to the University of Florida for his final three seasons.
At 6-foot-4, Grimes has a massive frame that has the ability to jump over opposing defensive backs and power through smaller ones. There is a reason Grimes dropped this far in the draft as he never had more than 38 catches or 589 receiving yards in a season. His nine touchdowns in 2020 could be a sign of him as a great red-zone target opposite the faster McLaurin and Samuels.
Another project at the corner position, Bryan Mills hails for the small school of North Central Carolina. At 6-foot-2, Mills is another big corner that can also be used as a special teams player if he does not fully develop at corner. There is a ton of wide receiver talent throughout the NFC East. Washington has a nice mix of talent at the cornerback position but with so much wide receiver talent around, adding upside at cornerback makes sense.
Mills may not jump off the board as a prospect due to the strength of competition, but the former HBCU prospect held his own during the Senior Bowl. There is certainly some nice upside at an extremely valuable position here.
