Round 7 Pick 245: Greg Eisworth, S, Iowa State

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a nice safety duo already but need to add depth so they select Greg Eisworth from Iowa State with their first pick in the seventh round. Eisworth is a fairly versatile safety that can go deep or play in the box, which he did in college. Has an average build for a safety standing at 6-foot and around 200 pounds, but is by far not a stand-out athlete by any means. If anything Eisworth would add depth to a position and be a special teamer.

With resigning Marcus Allen and signing Miles Killebrew who both have experience playing safety, they also will flex from safety to inside linebacker at times. Greg Eisworth with having experienced being in the box and in the outfield he would provide valuable depth to a position that is top-heavy. Eisworth is a solid tackler and has all the skills to be a backup safety, special teamer, and a nice add in the seventh round for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Round 7 Pick 254: Marquez Stevenson, WR, Houston

With the last pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2021 NFL Draft, they go, Marquez Stevenson. The Pittsburgh Steelers have locked up all the starting wideouts from their starting rotation last year so receiver is not going to be a need for them. Many may want a tight end in the later rounds, but the 2021 NFL Draft tight end class isn’t very strong behind Kyle Pitts and makes sense to take a speedy receiver with attributes to play special teams and returner qualities.

Marquez Stevenson had a really nice year in 2018 when D’Eriq King was still at Houston, while keeping good numbers he never proved to be a number one wideout for the Cougars. This year was supposed to be the year he was the guy and he really underperformed to many people’s expectations. Stevenson obtains nice speed and has solid route running to play slot and outside at the next level. Stevenson also has kick and punt returning experience and can be a back up to Ray-Ray McCloud or even battle for the returner spot for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
