Assessing Cleveland Browns defensive-heavy 2021 NFL Draft needs
Cleveland Browns 2021 NFL Draft team needs: Honorable Mentions
Defensive Tackle: With the departure of Larry Ogunjobi, the Browns will look elsewhere for contributions alongside Sheldon Richardson. The team added Malik Jackson in free agency, drafted Jordan Elliott last season and will be getting Andrew Billings back after he opted out a season ago, but they still could add another piece to compete for snaps.
Offensive Line depth: The starting offensive line for the Browns proved to be outstanding from left to right. Behind that starting five, the Browns don’t have much. Aside from Chris Hubbard and Nick Harris, even dedicated football fans may not recognize a name on the roster. Michael Dunn and Blake Hance played in the playoffs last season for the Browns, so they may invest some capital in some talented reinforcements.
Running Back: One of the biggest questions of this offseason for the Cleveland Browns is whether or not the team will extend star running back Nick Chubb. With Kareem Hunt already under contract, investing solid draft capital in a running back could be a sign that Chubb is on his way out, but shouldn’t come as a total surprise from an analytically-driven front office like Cleveland.
Tight End: Former first-round pick David Njoku made it no secret last season that he no longer wanted to be a part of this team. So if the Cleveland Browns do decide to move on from him, they could add another piece in the 2021 NFL Draft to play in Kevin Stefanski’s tight end heavy offense.
