In a welcomed change-of-pace for Cleveland Browns fans, the team will not hear their pick announced until rather late in the night when the 2021 NFL Draft debuts on April 29.

In previous years, the Brownies would be one of the first teams on the clock with a plethora of holes to fill. Coming off of a playoff appearance, Cleveland doesn’t pick until 26th overall, with a much more well-rounded roster and a much brighter future.

However, the team still has plenty of room for improvement, particularly on defense. How will GM Andrew Berry, head coach Kevin Stefanski and defensive coordinator Joe Woods improve the unit that struggled at times throughout the 2020 season? Well, recognizing the spots that need to be addressed would be a good start.

1. Defensive End

Another edge rusher across from Myles Garrett still has to be a priority for Andrew Berry and the Cleveland Browns in the 2021 NFL Draft. Sure, they signed Takk McKinley as a free agent this offseason, a player they have been in pursuit of over the past couple of years, but they still need to add talent at that spot.

Although the 2021 NFL Draft does not have one or two highly sought-after EDGE prospects like in years past, there are quite a few options towards the top of the draft that could come in and help the Cleveland Browns defense right away.

Whether it is at pick 26 or in the second round, I fully anticipate the Cleveland Browns drafting someone to play defensive end in the 2021 NFL Draft. If McKinley works out, great. If not, the team will have another promising young piece that could gain some valuable experience and develop into a star alongside potential Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett.
