Pick Analysis. Texas A&M. player. 57. Scouting Report. QB. Kellen Mond. 6

The Chicago Bears let former second overall pick Mitch Trubisky walk in the 2021 offseason and they replaced him with former second-round pick Andy Dalton.

Dalton, an established veteran at this point, was apparently assured that he will be the Bears’ starter in 2021 but Chicago is not fooling anyone that he is their long-term play at the position.

The Bears, Washington Football Team, or any team picking behind the New England Patriots is probably at a substantial disadvantage when it comes to any possibility of trading up for a quarterback in this year’s draft unless they make a ridiculous offer to some team picking in the top seven.

Therefore, I think the Bears should set their sights on the player who could possibly be the best option on day two of the 2021 NFL Draft — Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond.

Chris Simms, who has been fairly spot-on in his pre-draft QB rankings over the past few years, thinks extremely highly of Mond.

Mond has big-time arm talent and he’s a very athletic quarterback with a ton of experience against top SEC competition.

There’s plenty to like about Mond and for the Bears, he’s a high-upside option in round two that you could reasonably at some point in the 2021 season replace Andy Dalton with if things are not going well with the Red Rifle under center.
