Philadelphia Eagles 7-round mock draft: Adding pieces to the secondary
The wide receiver position is still a position of need for the Philadelphia Eagles heading into the 2021 NFL Draft. The Eagles moved on from Alshon Jeffery recently, and JJ Arcega-Whiteside hasn’t panned out for them. Travis Fulgham is a nice role player, but he isn’t an elite starter at the position.
Yes, the Eagles did select three receivers in the 2020 draft, which was a focus on finding speed. Jalen Reagor showed a bit of promise and could become a good WR2 in the offense. But, John Hightower has issues with his hands and Quez Watkins is a bit undersized.
Getting a true “X” type in the building like Jeffery was for a few seasons should be a focus. Luckily, Terrace Marshall Jr. is available here early in the second round.
Marshall possesses great qualities to eventually become a WR1 in Philly. He has good size for the position and has a great pair of hands. He is a true three-level threat at the position, who shows the ability to separate in the quick passing game while displaying good speed and acceleration to win deep down the field. Marshall can succeed in contested catch situations and had very good production in his final season.
His ability to win downfield will work well with the deep ball that Jalen Hurts possesses. Marshall and Reagor would be a fun duo in 2021.
