1. Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU

This could be the best-case scenario for the Miami Dolphins, depending on how their wide receiver board looks at the moment. Ja’Marr Chase, for many analysts, is the sure-fire top wide receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft. Despite missing out on the 2020 season due to an opt-out, Chase has the skill set to be a very good “X” receiver in the NFL.

The first thing that stands out with Chase is his physicality. He’s not afraid to use his hands against press coverage to get off of jams. Chase is also dynamic after catch, with good breakaway speed and the toughness to fight off would-be tacklers. He’s dominant at the catch point as well, showing off strong hands to survive through contact and a great affinity for high-pointing the ball.

Chase isn’t going to be a natural separator with his route running skills, but he has the size and physicality to win deep and on quick routes. Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa excels throwing in-breakers and deep routes, so Chase would be a solid fit for this team in that regard.

It’s possible Chase could be on the Bengals’ radar due to his familiarity with Burrow. Even if that happens, there are some excellent consolation players still available for the Dolphins if Chase isn’t available.
