NFL mock draft 2021: Justin Fields, Trey Lance land in perfect situations
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 31st overall
After just missing out on Trent Williams in free agency, the left tackle position will likely be the top priority for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 NFL Draft. This is a major immediate need for this team and finding a long-term blindside protector for Patrick Mahomes would be ideal. With their first-round selection in this NFL mock draft, the Chiefs are able to snag Samuel Cosmi, a talented left tackle prospect out of Texas.
Cosmi is an exciting athlete at the offensive tackle position who moves extremely well in space. He gets into vertical pass sets quickly, mirrors opposing edge rushers at a high level and consistently shows impressive punch power. Cosmi fits well with Kansas City because of his obvious upside in pass protection and his ability to get out and make blocks in the screen game. The Texas product feels like the perfect fit for the Chiefs and would undoubtedly be a nice pick for the team at No. 31.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 32nd overall
As time goes along, it is becoming more and more difficult to place players to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in these mock drafts. General manager Jason Licht and company have done an incredible job of getting all of the Bucs’ important players back in the building this offseason and the team will likely enter the 2021 NFL Draft without any obvious flaws. They can simply sit back and take the best player available.
In this 2021 NFL mock draft, Chrisitan Barmore is the best player available and he stands out as a strong fit for the team. Barmore is a bit of a project player but his upside as an interior penetrator is obvious. Barmore showcases an explosive first step and an impressive combination of power and quickness in the middle of the field. With Ndamukong Suh only back on a one-year deal, getting Barmore in the building to replace him after the 2021 season would make a ton of sense.
