Scouting Report. WR. DeVonta Smith. 6. 54. Pick Analysis. Alabama. player

Another year, another speedy wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. Due to injuries over the last two years, the Eagles have really lacked any sort of consistency at the wide receiver position. However, adding a Heisman-winning wide receiver could help turn that around.

This wide receiver class is deep, but it’s also still up in the air. Chase, Smith, Jaylen Waddle and others are all in the mix to be the top wide receiver, the second off the board, etc. However, the season that Smith put together last year should be enough to put him as the first or second wide receiver to go in the draft.

Smith putting up 23 touchdowns with over 1,800 receiving yards was rather impressive, so placing that skill set on a team that has pieces at the position could be the best option. Smith paired with Jalen Reagor’s speed and Travis Fulgham’s size gives a nice balance.

Surrounding Jalen Hurts with talent is what the Eagles need to do in this draft. Kyle Pitts is another player to consider here, so it will just depend on the direction that the team wants to go schematically. If they want size, then Pitts might be the pick. If it’s speed, then Smith fits the bill.
