2021 NFL Draft: Washington trades up for Justin Fields in NFL mock draft
By Kyle Edmond
Will the Green Bay Packers finally get Aaron Rodgers some help? Who knows! At this point, the Packers are becoming the most troubling team when it comes to putting together mock drafts because what they do just doesn’t make sense.
Last year they spent their first-round pick on Jordan Love only to have Aaron Rodgers post an MVP season. Then, they used their second-round pick on A.J. Dillon before paying up for Aaron Jones to stay this offseason. There just doesn’t seem to be much of a plan there, so saying whether or not they take a wide receiver is really just a shot in the dark.
Here, I’m going to say yes. Davante Adams was incredible when healthy, but beyond him the position group lacked consistency. Both Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling had flashes, but nothing consistent. What Kadarius Toney would present would be consistency opposite Adams.
While Toney never broke 1,000 receiving yards in a season, his 10 touchdowns in 2020 will be a big draw as well as his versatility that would allow the offense to use him creatively. For Florida, he scored a touchdown on the ground while also averaging 8.5 yards per carry on 19 touches last season.
