Pick Analysis. S. Trevon Moehrig. Scouting Report. TCU. 25. player. 52

With their second pick in the first round, the Jacksonville Jaguars will be one pick to watch. For one, we don’t have anything to go off of for Urban Meyer in an NFL Draft. What matters to him, what positions take priority, etc. On top of that, they have more pieces in place than some think, but where they lack, they are very thin.

Originally, I thought this pick would maybe be used on another weapon for Trevor Lawrence. Add a rookie to grow with the rookie through their careers. However, the signing of Marvin Jones has changed my mind a bit. Having Jones with D.J. Chark and Laviska Shenault is a good start for them to look elsewhere here.

Ironically, this pick is from trading away Jalen Ramsey, so they use it to help that exact part of the field. The Jags have C.J. Henderson and added Shaquill Griffin, but beyond those two there isn’t much to be excited about in their secondary. Enter Trevon Moehrig.

Moehrig is a ball hawk safety with 20 passes defended over the last two seasons, playing in 22 games in that span. He also added six interceptions and over 100 tackles. We know that Urban Meyer produced secondary at Ohio State, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see him emphasize the position here either.
