2021 NFL Draft: Washington trades up for Justin Fields in NFL mock draft
By Kyle Edmond
The Tennessee Titans offense will without a doubt run through Derrick Henry, but the wide receivers on the roster were very important as well. With that being said, Corey Davis is no longer with the team and I have a hard time thinking that Josh Reynolds will be Tennessee’s No. 2 wide receiver behind A.J. Brown.
Now, this wide receiver class is deep, but the Titans have been no stranger to using first-round picks on the position, and it’s worked out rather well in the long run. This year is a bit different because they have other needs, but it’s hard to run away from adding Rashod Bateman to this offense.
Losing Corey Davis, the Titans return to the P.J. Fleck tree and draft Bateman to take his place. At 6-foot-2, 210, Bateman is a near clone of what Davis was coming out of college in terms of size. Batemen did have a down year in 2020, but his 2019 stats that included 1,219 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns should be enough to uphold his stock for being a first-round pick.
The other direction that the Titans could possibly go would be a right tackle, perhaps Samuel Cosmi, but the run on tackles ahead of them might lead them elsewhere with this pick.
