Clemson. Trevor Lawrence. player. 52. Pick Analysis. 1. Scouting Report. QB

This pick has seemed like a lock for a long time and nothing has changed. The Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t made any moves so far this offseason to indicate that they are going to shock the world and take a non-quarterback and there really hasn’t been much discussion of someone else going at No. 1.

What the Jags have done this offseason is add additional weapons. They had a few pieces leave at the wide receiver position, but the signing of Marvin Jones is a big upgrade. They also put a tag on left tackle Cam Robinson, so the investment in the offensive side of the ball has already been prominent.

Inserting the best quarterback prospect in almost 10 years into an offense that already has a steady run game and solid weapons is enough to draw intrigue. With Urban Meyer at the helm for the first time in the NFL, this team could not only be fun to follow in 2021 but might even end up being a bit of a surprise if the pieces click into place. The question will be the defense.

As much as Lawrence will alter this offense, they still have to stop the ball from going into the other end zone to win. Luckily, Jacksonville holds another pick later in this round that came from the Jalen Ramsey trade to the Rams.
