South Carolina. 32. Scouting Report. CB. Jaycee Horn. 16. player. Pick Analysis

The defense for the Arizona Cardinals is going to look much different in 2021 for a lot of reasons, but the main one will be the absence of Patrick Peterson. Heading to Minnesota, Peterson will be missed in Arizona, but the Cardinals have planned for this with Budda Baker and Byron Murphy. With that being said, they are losing more than just Peterson in the secondary, increasing the odds of a cornerback here.

Recently, Jaycee Horn has been climbing draft boards and mock drafts, going to the Cowboys and Giants in some cases. However, the way this mock draft is falling with Surtain falling to Dallas and then Farley just the pick before this one, Horn sees the domino effect and ends up with Arizona.

Over 30 games with South Carolina, Horn had just two interceptions, but he did total 23 passes defended, finding ways to make plays on the ball without necessarily catching it. Adding him to a young secondary with Baker and Murphy would be the ideal scenario for Arizona in a division that is emphasizing speed at the wide receiver position.

Horn has grabbed headlines recently for saying he’s the best defensive player in this class. If that proves to be true, then the Cardinals could get a steal in the middle of the first round.
