player. Pick Analysis. CB. Caleb Farley. 15. 47. Scouting Report. Virginia Tech

So far this offseason, the New England Patriots might be the most aggressive team in the league, which is a big change from what we’ve come to know from them. While they’ve made signing after signing, the majority have been on offense and the ones on defense have been front seven, leaving the secondary untouched. That is until now.

With all the top quarterbacks off the board, the Patriots opt to look elsewhere for now. If there’s one thing I don’t foresee from Bill Belichick, it’s trading up for a quarterback in the first round. Instead, he stays put and adds a big-time cornerback in Caleb Farley to either go opposite Stephon Gilmore or replace him if they decide to trade him at any point.

Farley didn’t play during the 2020 season, but his stats in 2019 are more than enough to uphold his draft stock on the field. During 2019 he had four interceptions to go along with 12 passes defended. One downside for Farley is that he will be coming off of surgery, which is why he didn’t have a Pro Day. That unknown could hurt his stock but also makes him seem like a prototypical New England Patriots pick.
