2021 NFL mock draft: 5th pick
Cincinnati Bengals key additions so far

- DL Larry Ogunjobi
- CB Chidobe Awuzie
- CB Mike Hilton
- OT Riley Reiff
The Bengals have spent the better part of the last two offseasons upgrading the defense through free agency and the offense through the NFL Draft.
In addition to the names listed above, Cincinnati has some big-money free agents like defensive lineman DJ Reader and cornerback Trae Waynes in the defense that they will be counting on to play up to their financial status so Joe Burrow and the offense can grow and learn while the team still succeeds.
The primary focus at this point for the Bengals, after all of the movement on defense through free agency, has to be to go after help for Joe Burrow, whether on the offensive line or at receiver.
A strong case can be made for probably three guys with this fifth overall pick: Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell, LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, and Florida tight end Kyle Pitts. Those players would all be instant impact players for the Bengals at key positions, but with Pitts off the board and the decision coming down to taking Burrow’s top target at LSU (Chase) or locking down left tackle for the next decade (Sewell) the choice might be rather easy.
Sewell is a tremendous left tackle prospect and his inclusion in the lineup would allow the Bengals to play Jonah Williams at guard with free agent pickup Riley Reiff manning the right tackle position.
