2021 NFL Mock Draft: 29th pick

Pick Analysis. Washington. 29. player. 49. Scouting Report. DB. Elijah Molden

Green Bay Packers key additions so far

  • None

The Packers made a big deal near the beginning of free agency to retain running back Aaron Jones on a four-year contract, but besides that, things have been relatively quiet in Green Bay as they typically are in free agency.

Though to be fair, the Packers did veer from their quiet-in-free-agency strategy over the past couple of years with some major impact additions in pass rushers Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith as well as safety Adrian Amos.

The Packers will need to address the secondary and the wide receiver position in the 2021 NFL Draft and that’s exactly what they will do in this mock draft.

Elijah Molden is not a popular first-round selection in mock draft projections but he probably should be. There are few players in this draft class at any position with cleaner tape and his game is translatable at multiple positions.

I think Molden could be the second coming of a Honey Badger, Tyrann Mathieu type of playmaker in the secondary, and the Packers could find a use for him immediately as a slot cornerback.
