2021 NFL Mock Draft: 18th pick

RB. Alabama. 18. 59. Pick Analysis. Najee Harris. player. Scouting Report

After trading down earlier and coming away with Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins turn around and go with another tremendous skill player from the Crimson Tide and get Najee Harris as their featured running back.

The Dolphins need to do anything and everything possible to put Tua Tagovailoa in a position to succeed. His rookie season had its ups and downs, but Tagovailoa is a tremendous talent who can elevate the Dolphins with more reps under his belt.

It certainly wouldn’t hurt to have guys around him like Waddle and Harris, college teammates he’s already had proven success with.

Najee Harris is a rare breed at the running back position with his combination of size, strength, pass-catching ability, route-running ability, football IQ, and just general all-around effectiveness.

Watching Harris work this past season at Alabama was like watching a professional athlete play among the college ranks. He was a dominant player and he’s ready for the rigors of the NFL.

With other pieces like Tagovailoa, DeVante Parker, and now Will Fuller in place, the Dolphins using their top two picks on skill talent makes sense to maximize and expedite their young quarterback’s development.
