Atlanta Falcons drastically improve in this 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft
Atlanta Falcons 2021 NFL mock draft: Round 5, 148th overall
With Isaiah Oliver hitting free agency next offseason, the Atlanta Falcons could easily look to address their cornerback situation in the draft. In this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Falcons do not find an ideal opportunity to deal with their cornerback need until the fifth round, where they snag Ambry Thomas.
Thomas is a quick and physical defender who shows impressive press coverage ability. He does a great job of making life difficult for opposing receivers at the line of scrimmage and has the short-area quickness needed to mirror opposing receivers in man coverage. He is a talented cornerback prospect who would be a great value selection in this range and could grow into a potential starting option for the Falcons.

Led by Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley at the top of the depth chart, the Falcons undoubtedly have a talented group of players at the wide receiver position. That being said, they do lack wide receiver depth and could easily look to address the position at some point in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Ihmir Smith-Marsette is a smooth and athletic wide receiver prospect who shows the ability to make plays at all levels of the field. He was never the most productive player in college but the less than stellar Iowa passing attack is at least partially to blame for that.
Simply put, Smith-Marsette is an extremely gifted athlete who shows exciting playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. He has obvious special teams value and could quickly grow into a strong depth wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons.
