Washington Football Team top draft targets after Ryan Fitzpatrick move
The Washington Football Team is in a tough spot when it comes to the 2021 NFL Draft and the quarterback position.
Picking 19th overall in the first round, Washington doesn’t have a great shot at the draft’s top quarterback, so that’s why they struck on day one of the 2021 NFL Free Agency frenzy.
Not to toot our own horn, but Ryan Fitzpatrick to the Washington Football Team was one of the predictions in our big free agency preview, and the fit obviously made as much sense to the actual management in the nation’s capital as it did to us.
Fitzpatrick signed a one-year contract with the Washington Football Team and it’s clear after what we saw from him last season in Miami — he’s still got plenty of good football left in him.
Not only that, but Fitzpatrick’s presence, at least on paper, has the ability to elevate Washington from what they were last year to a legitimate contender in the NFC East again in 2021.
Washington has such a strong defense but they need to get the offense to a point where they can consistently play well. That process doesn’t end with Ryan Fitzpatrick, although it’s a great start and an upgrade over anyone they had in 2020.
How will they get better through the 2021 NFL Draft?
At this point, it seems obvious that this Washington Football Team needs to continue upgrading on offense. They will continue to look into doing that through free agency, but the 2021 NFL Draft is loaded with offensive weapons and linemen to help this team now.
Here are their top draft options after the signing of Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB.
