2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 33rd overall

Scouting Report. S. TCU. Trevon Moehrig. player. 52. Pick Analysis. 33

The Jacksonville Jaguars already addressed a need in the secondary in this 2021 NFL mock draft and they do so again here to kick off the second round. Trevon Moehrig is the best safety prospect in this draft class and he stands tall as a premier target for the Jaguars in this range.

Moehrig shines as a deep safety, showing impressive natural playmaking ability on the back-end. He displays incredible natural instincts in zone coverage and attacks the ball in the air incredibly well. Moehrig knows where to be at all times and has the range needed to get to his spots pretty much no matter what. Adding an impact deep safety like Moehrig who can make plays and provide stability on the back-end would undoubtedly help take the Jags’ defense to the next level.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 34th overall

Pick Analysis. WR. 34. 30. Scouting Report. Ole Miss. Elijah Moore. player

The New York Jets already found their franchise quarterback earlier in this 2021 NFL mock draft and here they get him an impact weapon in the passing game. Elijah Moore is an extremely quick and athletic wide receiver prospect who has exciting upside at the next level.

He creates separation from man coverage well, is a tough player who is not afraid to go over the middle and creates after the catch at a high level. Moore is an exceptional playmaker who can make an impact out of the slot and on the outside, despite his relative lack of size.

The Jets lack impact playmakers on the offensive side of the ball and will need to address this issue if they expect to get the most out of their young quarterback. Moore is a dynamic offensive weapon who could come in and make an immediate impact for this team. A young wide receiver duo of Elijah Moore and Denzel Mims has a ton of long-term upside. Watching them grow alongside Zach Wilson would be fun for the Jets and their fans.
