2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 29th overall

South Carolina. 49. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Jaycee Horn. 29. player

Jaycee Horn is a long and physical cornerback prospect who shines in press coverage at the line of scrimmage. He is an extremely aggressive corner who plays the receiver well and can absolutely suffocate opposing receivers at the line of scrimmage. Horn does lack ideal short-area quickness and tends to get a bit grabby at times. That being said, he is undoubtedly a gifted player who has obvious upside at the next level.

Jaire Alexander has grown into a premier outside cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, but they lack impact players around him at the position. It is easy for opposing quarterbacks to simply pick on other players at the position and stay away from Alexander. This team has many holes but using this pick to potentially fix their cornerback room would be a strong plan of attack.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 30th overall

EDGE. Jaelan Phillips. player. 16. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Miami (FL). 30

Jaelan Phillips is one of the most interesting prospects in this draft class. He is a former top-ranked recruit who clearly has a ton of athletic upside as an edge defender. However, his college career did not go according to plan.

Phillips stepped away from the game and eventually ended up at Miami. This past season, Phillips looked great for the Hurricanes, showing off his obvious ability as an edge defender. Phillips has an impressive combination of power and athleticism on the edge, using his abilities to make an impact as a pass rusher and run defender.

While he is a bit of a risky prospect, Phillips has exciting upside at the next level and would undoubtedly be an impact addition to the Buffalo Bills’ defensive line mix. His well-rounded skill-set would make him a strong fit for the Bills up front.
