TE. player. 48. Scouting Report. Rob Gronkowski. 26. Pick Analysis. Previous team: Bucs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to have to do everything they can just to “run it back” and get as many of the guys they had in their championship run under contract again for 2021.

The Bucs are a veteran-laden team and with so many key in-house free agents, it’s hard to know what out-of-house guys they would bring in in the early goings of free agency.

Thus, I am going with the ultimate cop-out of picking Rob Gronkowski as a top free agent for the Bucs to retain, though they have already placed the franchise tag on wide receiver Chris Godwin, re-signed Lavonte David, and extended Tom Brady.

It’s not like the Bucs are sitting idly by.

The biggest free agent they have to deal with now is outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett, one of the stars of this entire roster defensively. In this scenario, I have the Bucs losing him to another team (the Ravens) obviously, but that doesn’t mean he will for sure not be back.

Still, given their cap situation, the Bucs are going to have to do everything they can to convince players like Gronkowski, Ndamukong Suh, and others to come back with low year one cap hits.

Barrett has won two Super Bowls at this point, and he deserves a massive pay day.
