Scouting Report. CB. Janoris Jenkins. player. 50. Pick Analysis. Previous Team: Saints. 23

It’s always good to look for free agents with connections, especially for teams that are hurting for cap space.

The Detroit Lions started off the 2021 offseason with a bang, bringing in general manager Brad Holmes over from the Los Angeles Rams.

Holmes and new head coach Dan Campbell wasted no time re-shaping the roster, trading former first overall pick Matthew Stafford to Holmes’ former team — the Los Angeles Rams — for fellow former first-overall pick Jared Goff and a variety of draft picks, including first-rounders in 2022 and 2023.

With both Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn coming from the New Orleans Saints to the Detroit Lions, a veteran pickup like Janoris Jenkins would make plenty of sense.

Jenkins was with the Saints the past two seasons, and last year he picked off three passes in 13 games with 12 pass breakups.

He would have familiarity with Glenn, obviously, and would give the Lions a necessary veteran presence after the (impending) release of both Desmond Trufant and Justin Coleman.
