It is undoubtedly going to be an interesting offseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Urban Meyer has been brought in to lead the team and Trevor Lawrence will soon be added as their franchise quarterback. This team is undoubtedly headed in the right direction and their ability to make major additions in free agency this offseason will be an important part of this rise.

According to Over the Cap, the Jaguars currently have more cap space than any other team in the NFL. With over $84 million under the cap to work with, the Jags have a major opportunity to add impact players on both sides of the ball in free agency. In particular, the Jacksonville Jaguars should be looking to find players who can help their young franchise quarterback grow. Free-agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor stands out as an obvious fit.

Agholor is coming off of the best season of his career. In 2020, Agholor caught 48 passes for 896 yards and eight touchdowns for the Las Vegas Raiders. He was a dynamic deep threat in the Raiders’ offensive attack and certainly has the skill-set needed to continue to shine.

Agholor has proven to be an impact player on the outside and a weapon out of the slot. He has impressive deep speed at the wide receiver position and also tracks the ball in the air extremely well.

Wide receiver is not the biggest need for the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason, but getting Lawrence as many impact passing-game weapons as possible needs to be a priority. Agholor’s ability as a deep receiver would be a welcomed addition in Jacksonville, especially when we consider how great Lawrence is as a deep passer.

Adding Agholor to the mix would round out the Jags’ wide receiver corps extremely well. A starting trio of Agholor, DJ Chark and Laviska Shenault bring plenty of immediate value and a ton of long-term upside. The Jaguars have plenty of work to do this offseason, but adding Agholor early in free agency would be a strong start.
