The Indianapolis Colts have a strong young secondary with some key players who are foundation pieces of their defense like slot corner Kenny Moore (one of the most underrated defensive backs in the league), Julian Blackmon (one of the most underrated rookies from the 2020 season), and former second-round pick Rock Ya-Sin.

The Colts could have to replace a pair of former first-round picks in the defensive backfield this offseason, though, one of which was their own selection. Former Vikings first-rounder Xavier Rhodes signed a “prove it” deal with the Colts in the 2020 offseason, and prove it he did.

Rhodes was tremendous for the Colts and will get a solid contract from them or someone else in the next couple of weeks.

Former Colts first-round safety Malik Hooker is also an unrestricted free agent.

The Indianapolis Colts might have a need at free safety or outside corner, and a guy who can do a little bit of everything for you is Trill Williams of Syracuse.

If you need him to line up at safety, slot, outside corner — he’s going to make plays wherever. For the Colts, I like Williams playing one of the outside cornerback positions but if they sign someone in free agency to tide them over, Williams could be used in nickel and dime packages too.
