EDGE. Kwity Paye. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 60. Michigan. 14

At pick 14 in this 2021 NFL mock draft, we have our first edge rusher come off the board. With no clear-cut favorite to be that first edge rusher off the board in the 2021 NFL Draft, it’s anyone’s guess in an NFL mock draft.

Here we have Michigan defensive end, Kwity Paye, heading to the Minnesota Vikings. the Vikes were supposed to have one of the best defensive units in the league going into last season but had a very disappointing season. With guys like Jared Allen, Everson Griffen and Yannick Ngakoue in the rear-view mirror, Minnesota needs to find someone to contribute across from Danielle Hunter.

Paye is a well-rounded edge presence who does just about everything well. He is solid against the run and is a powerful pass rusher with loads of potential. Whether it is on the edge or bumped inside, Paye always seems to find his way into the backfield.

Around the edge, Paye has great bend and hand usage to quickly get by a tackle and to the quarterback. He is also very effective with inside moves, using his powerful core, legs and hands to battle bigger blockers.

Paye has a relentless motor and does not quit until he finds the ball. He is quick off the ball, often knifing right into the backfield. With his frame, strength and athleticism, Paye should only get better and better with coaching at the next level and could prove to be a big-time addition for a struggling defense like Minnesota.
