Jaguars 2021 mock draft: adding a few more Ohio State Buckeyes
By John Blair
While the Jaguars already upgraded their defensive line adding defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa in the third round, they also need to upgrade the defensive end position. The current starters on the team are Josh Allen who battled a knee injury last season, and K’Lavon Chaisson who struggled against the run.
Jacksonville will likely look to add a defensive end who can help vs. both the run and the pass and Oklahoma’s Ronnie Perkins could be a steal at this point in the draft.
The main reason Perkins could fall this far in the draft is due to a six-game suspension he had to serve in college for a failed drug test. On the field, Perkins has been one of the more productive defensive linemen in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Last season, he recorded 10.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks in just six games. If Perkins is off the board by this point in the draft the team could look at another former Buckeye in defensive end Jonathon Cooper.

One of the biggest steals of the 2020 NFL Draft was running back James Robinson who rushed for over 1,000 yards despite going undrafted. Unfortunately, the team does not have much behind Robinson.
Chris Thompson was supposed to be the team’s third-down back last year but he struggled, and the team will likely move on from this offseason.
Elijah Mitchell of Louisiana-Lafayette is a back who could give James Robinson a much-needed break. He is a hard-charging runner who shows excellent balance. He can help out in the passing game as well as he caught 16 passes out of the backfield last year.
