After a season that saw slumps and inconsistency from the Baltimore Ravens passing game, an invigoration of explosive youth from the 2021 NFL Draft could revitalize what was once incapacitated. Led by Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown, the Raven’s receiving group lacks the third playmaker to push them over the top.

Similar to incumbent wideout Brown in many respects, Florida’s Kadarius Toney finds himself selected by Baltimore in this NFL mock draft for his post-catch production and ability to create separation in short-yardage situations. Proving his route-running savvy during an impressive senior bowl week, Toney could offer a more consistent presence than Brown and possess similar explosiveness.

Alongside Brown, the Ravens passing offense would now have three potential focal points, two of which being threats from behind the line of scrimmage, as well as the constant hazard of Lamar Jackson breaking off a 20-yard gain on the ground.

After being unable to give quarterback Drew Brees one final postseason run after their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans sees the dawn of a new offense for their Saint’s roster with multi-purpose quarterback Taysom Hill assuming the starting job. Despite the potential need for investment into the weapons surrounding Hill, the first area of need will be in the defensive secondary.

At six-foot-two, 203-pounds, Trevon Moehrig-Woodard is a prototype safety with the size and range to be an impact player in run defense. Playing his best as a high-safety capable of playing single-high, Woodard’s athletic profile serves him well against a variety of receiving threats, enabling him to make aggressive plays on the ball.

Losing not only free safety Marcus Williams, but also three cornerbacks to free agency this offseason, this NFL mock draft sees New Orleans potentially reach for the top safety of the 2021 NFL Draft in order to acquire a cap-friendly replacement with the potential to replicate statistical production.
