After (hopefully) solving the question at quarterback after trading for Carson Wentz, the Indianapolis Colts can turn their 2021 NFL Draft focus to the defensive side of the ball. Aging and losing personnel at both cornerback and edge this offseason, the Colts will need to hit on their early selections with starting-caliber contributors for their defense to remain competitive.

After offering Xavier Rhodes the chance to redeem his career, Indianapolis will be spending their first-round selection in this NFL mock draft on youth in the secondary with the long-limbed South Carolina corner Jaycee Horn. Physical and rangy, Horn uses most of his 6-foot-1 frame to blanket receivers in trail-man coverage, matching downfield speed with his long strides.

Having shown a tendency to get handsy along the route, Horn will need to reign in his contact-driven coverage style to be successful at the next level.

After the failed redemption of Jadaveon Clowney, the Tenessee Titans look to supplement their loss of a premier edge-rusher with a late first-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. Picking from a pool of second-tier prospects in this year’s edge class as suited to play as at 3-4 OLB, Tennessee ops for the prospect who has displayed distinctiveness and raw playmaking ability over the course of this past season.

At 6-foot-3, 240-pounds, Georgia’s Azeez Ojulari is a physical prospect with a high motor and the ability to disrupt a play from the backside. Offering strong run defense and the ability to tackle in space, Ojulari has shot up draft boards with his knack for making plays on the ball as well as his tendency to attack the ball when tackling the quarterback, producing extra turnovers to swing the tide of the game.

Placed alongside fellow young linebackers within the Tennesse defensive front, the Titans will have completed an impressive unit following this NFL mock draft with the potential to produce a reign of terror over the quarterbacks of the AFC South.
