7. Kendrick Green, Illinois
6-foot-3, 300 pounds
2021 NFL Draft grade: Fifth round

A sleeper in this year the 2021 NFL Draft is Illinois’s Kendrick Green. Green has quietly been one of the most impressive linemen in college football over the previous couple of seasons. This past season he was named a USA Today second-team All-American and an AP All-Big Ten choice. He also finished tied for the Power Five lead in big-time blocks with 14 according to Pro Football Focus. Green was also graded as the number two guard in the Power Five at the end of the 2019 regular season by Pro Football Focus.

In terms of the skillset Green bring to the table his top asset might be his quickness. He does a great job of getting off the ball and overall is a very solid athlete. He also displays nice power which will only be improved with better technique. The biggest flaw with him is that he can get sloppy at times as he tends to lunge, and not always keep his feet moving on contact. However, these are all things that can be coached which is why Green could eventually develop into an NFL starter.

8. Bryce Hargrove, Pittsburgh
6-foot-4, 320 pounds
2021 NFL Draft grade: Fifth round

Bryce Hargrove has been a reliable starter for Pittsburgh over the past few seasons as he has made 27 straight starts. His best season was in 2019 when he only gave up one sack all season. He was named to the All-ACC third team that season.

As a prospect Hargrove is best in pass protection. He does a great job of mirroring the defensive lineman and uses his hands well in this area. His quick feet also benefit him greatly in this area. As a run blocker, Hargrave is helped by his athletic ability as he is often asked to pull in Pittsburgh’s offense. He could work on doing a better job of staying on his blocks in this area though.
