Round 3, Pick 105

Florida. Kyle Trask. 840. Scouting Report. QB. player. Pick Analysis. 3

It still remains to be seen what the plan is for the Saints at the quarterback position post-Drew Brees, whether that be this coming season or not. Winston and Hill could both be options, but adding another to the group would be a wise move.

Kyle Trask was impressive during the 2020 season and finished fourth in the Heisman voting. Over 12 games, Trask threw for over 4,000 yards and 43 touchdowns. Those numbers don’t just happen. Those stats combined with a 6-foot-5 frame make Trask an intriguing mid-round pick. If he’s on the board here, which I find hard to believe, the Saints should think long and hard about adding him to the quarterback room.

Round 4, Pick 133

EDGE. Tulane. player. 2115. 4. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Cameron Sample

This is the second consecutive 2021 NFL mock draft that I’ve done with Cameron Sample going in the fourth round, so I’ll echo what I said when I had the Steelers drafting him.

While at Tulane, Cameron Sample put up consistent numbers that showed improvement along the way. During the 2020 season, playing in 11 games, he logged 7.5 tackles for loss and five sacks.

In Pittsburgh, Sample would be replacing Bud Dupree, but the task is much easier in New Orleans. Here, he would join a position with Cameron Jordan and Marcus Davenport at least, depending on how the free agency market goes.
